David Baker

David Baker is currently a senior at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, majoring in Industrial Design.  David originally started at North Carolina State University in the engineering program where he took his first course in Industrial Design.  He found he loved the combination of logical thinking and problem solving like in engineering but found it came with creative freedom which engineering lacked.  While at ASU, David has been on the Dean’s List and Chancellors List.  He has a passion for building and creating things.   In David’s free time, he enjoys working on his car, creating small furniture projects and experimenting with lighting.  He also enjoys the outdoors, wilderness and camping.  David would like to pursue a career in furniture design for a company that focuses on good, affordable designs.  He says he would enjoy knowing that he had a hand in designing something available to and used by many people.
