Ashley graduated from High Point University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in interior design. She recently accepted a position with Arc|Com as an account executive for Maryland and the Greater Baltimore area where she calls on the A&D community and dealerships. Arc|Com is a leading textiles and wall covering supplier in the contract industry. Ashley previously worked for more than five years in the design department for American Office, one of the largest commercial furniture dealerships in the US. Later she was promoted to the Architectural & Design Consultant for the Baltimore area.
Keri Wilder Ayscue
Keri graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in interior design. She currently Phillips Architecture as a senior associate, where she handles all aspects of project design from programming to construction observation. Keri specializes in commercial interiors.
David Baker is currently a senior at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, majoring in Industrial Design. David originally started at North Carolina State University in the engineering program where he took his first course in Industrial Design. He found he loved the combination of logical thinking and problem solving like in engineering but found it came with creative freedom which engineering lacked. While at ASU, David has been on the Dean’s List and Chancellors List. He has a passion for building and creating things. In David’s free time, he enjoys working on his car, creating small furniture projects and experimenting with lighting. He also enjoys the outdoors, wilderness and camping. David would like to pursue a career in furniture design for a company that focuses on good, affordable designs. He says he would enjoy knowing that he had a hand in designing something available to and used by many people.
As director of design at Sherrill Furniture Companies, Megan designs, collaborates and manages casegoods, upholstery and occasional collections among the eight companies under the Sherrill Furniture umbrella. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design. She has worked for Design Dimension Inc. as lead exhibit and structural designer and at Heritage Home Group as director of home furnishing product design.
Frederick “John” Barton
A senior at Appalachian State University, John is majoring in Industrial Design with concentration in Furniture Design and a minor in marketing. He nurtured his passion for art and design at the Marist School in Atlanta, GA. He participates in a student-run chapter of ASFD as a board member. John enjoys hiking and camping when possible. He has been on the Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List while at ASU. In addition, John is currently the recipient of the Home Furnishings Study Grant and is a Finalist in the Bienenstock Furniture Library Chair Design Competition. After graduation, John would like to start his own home furnishings company with some of his classmates.
Rebekah graduated from East Carolina University in 2007 with a degree in interior design.
Nick graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design where he studied furniture design in Denmark during the summer before graduation. Previously he worked for Aspenhome as a furniture designer and Turnkey Products as vice president of creative resources. Nick currently works for Magnussen Home Furnishings Inc. as a product designer.
Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jacob graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in furniture design. While in college, Jacob launched J. Blok Studios in Kalamazoo, MI. His mission is to return fresh design principles to the artisan furniture market.
Chris graduated from Appalachian State University in 2009 with a degree in Industrial Design and Furniture Studies with a minor in Business. He has been employed by Turner Construction as an Engineer for 9 years in NYC, NJ, & IA. Chris also created a work shop at his house, and started a small custom woodworking business called Brooten Reclaimed which can be found on Instagram. In his free time, he also enjoys putting his handyman skills to use by buying and flipping real estate.
Jessica Henderson Brown
Jessica graduated from High Point University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management with a concentration in interior design and home furnishings. She has worked at Baker Furniture as a student intern, Abercrombie & Fitch as a brand representative, Bakers Footwear Group as a store manager, and Michael Kors as an assistant store manager. Jessica currently works for general contractor, JW CLARDY Construction Company Inc. as an administrative assistant. She recently got married and lives in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jessica also works with her husband’s real estate firm staging new construction homes.
