Katherine Watts Brown
Katherine graduated from Appalachian State University in May 2010 with a BS in interior design. She currently works for CBI as an independent contractor. Her previous employers include ENVI Studios, Manning Design Group, Carolina Business Interiors and IA Interior Architects.
Jon is a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Jon graduated from Mississippi State University in the Spring of 2003 with a degree in Furniture Management/Production.
Patty Mayol Cain
Patty graduated from High Point University with a degree in interior design.
Hazel received a Bachelor’s of Science in interior design from Appalachian State University. She is currently getting her master’s degree in technology with a concentration in sustainable design and construction at ASU and graduated in May 2018. Yanxin graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2004 with a BFA degree with an emphasis in furniture design. He has worked for H. Thomas Keller & Associates, LLC and Fairmont Designs as a furniture designer. He is now the owner and designer of C. Yanxin Designs, LLC in Irvine, CA, where he is a freelance designer for residential furniture industry. Yanxin credits the Celia Moh Scholarship with adding credibility to his professional talents and helping him make strong connections in the furniture industry.
Brittany Ferguson Coburn
Brittany graduated from High Point University with a degree in interior design. She works at MyEyes Optometry as a vision therapist.
Carrie Gillispie Cox
Carrie graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor’s of Science in home furnishings and design. She currently works for Heritage Home Group as the director of showrooms.
Ethan graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in industrial and product design. He currently works as an industrial designer at Cree.
A senior at Kendall College of Art and Design, Kendra is majoring in Furniture Design because it gives her the ability to bring good design to everyday objects, combining form and function to make something fresh and functional. In addition to studying furniture design, Kendra is also pursuing a major in metals and jewelry. In her free time she enjoys working with a new non-profit theater company, directing musicals and designing sets. She also works with students teaching music and choreography. After graduation, Kendra hopes to be a furniture designer working in a collaborative environment.
Will graduated from North Carolina State University where he majored in industrial engineering with a concentration in furniture manufacturing. After graduation, he joined Schneider Electric where he has worked in a number of sales roles. Will moved from Raleigh to Baton Rouge to Houston, where he sells process automation products and services to many market segments, ranging from water and wastewater to oil and gas. His hobbies still include being on the water or in the woods every chance he gets.
