Lyndsey graduated from East Carolina University in May 2010 with a BS in interior design. She continued her studies, obtaining a BS in business administration and marketing, also from ECU. The companies she has worked for are Charlotte Cabinets, Inc., East Carolina University, BURKE, and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. She currently works for Hospice of Union County/Carolinas HealthCare System as a special events coordinator.
John (Jay) Leake
Jay completed the furniture manufacturing degree from Appalachian State University. Jay custom designs and builds period reproduction furniture for designers and consumer clients through his family’s company, Leake Furniture Makers located in York, SC. (http://www.leakesantiques.com) They have been very busy since a featured story was published in Garden & Gun magazine in 2014. Ryan graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2009 with a degree in furniture design.
William graduated from High Point University with a BS in interior design. He moved to Connecticut where he has worked as a designer for Lillian August Designs, Inc. He has been with the company for 4 years now and is working to become a Senior Designer. You can see his designs on Instagram @williamblyon.
Meredith Matsakis is a senior at High Point University, majoring in Visual Merchandising Design. Originally from Asheville, NC, Meredith says home furnishings is a personal passion and runs in her blood since she grew up in a furniture family. Meredith has received the following scholarships: Celia Moh Scholarship, High Point University Presidential Scholarship, Patrick H. Norton Scholarship, Board of Visitors Scholarship, Asheville City Schools Foundation Scholarship, S. Hayes Robinson Memorial Dance Scholarship along with being on the Deans List since 2014. In her free time, she participates in the Interiors and Home Furnishings Club (IHFC), as co-president, and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) chapter on campus as founding president. Meredith also participates heavily in the theatre department as a minor. She is a Business Ethics Student Instructor, a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, a member of Alpha Psi Omega Theatre Fraternity, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society and a member of the Order of Omega Greek Honors Fraternity. Meredith sees herself being a proponent and advocate for the domestic home furnishings industry in the 21st century. She envisions creating a cradle-to-cradle, sustainable, cost-effective, recycling method to create a new path for the future of the home furnishings industry.
Patty Mayol Cain
Patty graduated from High Point University with a degree in interior design.
A May 2010 graduate of East Carolina University, Anne holds a degree in interior design.
As a High Point, NC native, Travis has the furniture industry in his blood. The North Carolina State University graduate is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering.
A senior at High Point University, Kelly is majoring in Interior Design. She has been on the Dean’s List every semester at HPU and is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Kelly is also an interior design academic tutor. Kelly says she would thrive in designing small spaces because she is passionate about green living and the tiny home movement. She enjoys listening to music, drawing, sketching and reading. After graduation, Kelly wants to pursue a career in designing and building small spaces. She has always been fascinated with the minimal lifestyle, and would love to design and build tree houses, tiny homes and temporary retreats.
