Amy Huff Oglethorpe
Amy graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in interior design and art. She currently works for Wesley Hall as the company’s creative director.
After graduating North Carolina State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s in industrial design, Trent worked in the NCSU Distance Education and Technology Department, was a tooling designer at Frost Converting Systems, Inc., and a space and graphic designer for the Entrepreneurship Initiative at NCSU, and became a Special Operations Candidate and Airman First Class, E-3 in the United States Air Force. He also worked as a field crew leader with Structural Inspections and was a project manager at Tower Engineering Professionals, Inc. Trent is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Commercial Construction Management at Auburn University in Alabama. In his graduate research he is focusing on sustainable housing design for developing countries, primarily for the jungles of Panama. Additionally, Trent continues to work as a marketing and technical advisor for his family’s interior design business, Cynthia Huffines & Associates, which continues to grow serving clients along the East Coast. Trent spends his free time renovating and flipping houses, duck hunting and backpacking with his younger brother and stays active in his local church. He also recently returned from a mission trip to Ecuador, where his team constructed a day care facility and church addition in an underdeveloped area of the capital city of Quito.
Josh graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in industrial engineering and business management. He went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University School of Business. Josh has worked for Kollmorgen, A Danaher Company, since graduating NCSU. His many positions at Kollmorgen have included quality engineer, purchasing engineer, area manager, product specialist, product line manager, business unit manager, and Danaher business system leader. Currently Josh is the director of global product marketing. Josh is married with 3 daughters, ages 11,9, and 2.
David graduated in May 2007 from North Carolina State University majoring in industrial engineering with concentration in furniture manufacturing and management. He also received a minor in graphic communications. David worked for Mark-David Furniture in China before receiving his master’s in industrial and systems engineering from NCSU. David currently works for Caterpillar in Aurora, IL.
After graduating from High Point University with a degree in home furnishings and a minor in sales, Sarah moved to Northern Virginia to pursue a career Crate & Barrel, a leading home furnishings retailer. Sarah has been with the company for two years and has had the opportunity to advance quickly within the organization. Currently she is a furniture sales manager for the Tysons Corner location, which is one of the company’s largest of their 83 locations in the United States. In addition, Sarah is also the wedding registry coordinator at her store, where she plans and executes all the Private Registry events that are held at the store 2-3 times a month. Event planning is also a personal hobby of hers that she thoroughly enjoys outside of work.
Lisa graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in furniture design. She currently works for Belwith Products as a senior manager of design.
Lyndsey graduated from East Carolina University in May 2010 with a BS in interior design. She continued her studies, obtaining a BS in business administration and marketing, also from ECU. The companies she has worked for are Charlotte Cabinets, Inc., East Carolina University, BURKE, and Carrabba’s Italian Grill. She currently works for Hospice of Union County/Carolinas HealthCare System as a special events coordinator.
John (Jay) Leake
Jay completed the furniture manufacturing degree from Appalachian State University. Jay custom designs and builds period reproduction furniture for designers and consumer clients through his family’s company, Leake Furniture Makers located in York, SC.
